Madrasathul Muhammadeeya was established as a middle school in the year 1918. The school came into being as a result of the efforts of three philanthropists namely; Kamakkanttakath Kunhamed Koya Haji, Koyappathodi Muhammed Kutty Haji and Khan Bahadur Valiyakath Haji Ali Barami; who together donated Rs. 1 lakh.

The object of founding of the school was uplifting the Muslim community of Malabar and impart modern secular education alongwith religious instructions. The school was founded by the Society called Muhammadan Educational Association which was registered on August 18, 1918.

The formal inauguration of the school was done by Justice Sir Abdul Raheem, then Judge of Madras High Court on 5th October, 1918.
